Allow family visitations. It is so important for residents in care facilities to have contact with loved ones!

Nursing home residents deserve the right to safely visit with family members. Family visitation is critical to their mental and emotional health.

We should be allowed to visit our family in "their home." This restriction should be a civil rights violation. You have allowed the general public the right to go to bars, casinos and gyms before allowing the Greatest Generation the right to see and touch their family again. Figure it out!

Let a family member visit their loved ones. This is so important to their mental health.

Far too long for families. It’s a nightmare for those in the nursing homes.

My grandma with Alzheimer’s has not seen a familiar face since March. FaceTime calls don’t really “work” for patients with Alzheimer’s.

My 88 year old husband is in a NH in Schenectady, NY for dementia care and I haven't seen him since March 11. I want to see him soon before it's too late! Change 28 to 14 days like everything else!!

This is not right!! Have more respect for the elderly. They need to see family!!! To cut them off is abuse!!

Another staff person tested positive. So now it will be 6 months! Half a year, at the earliest before I can see my son again. This is cruel and unusual punishment!

Have not seen my mother suffers from Parkinson's since 3/11, just got the robo call another staff positive, 28 days start over again. According to NH reps, staff shortage did not exists, communication was perfect, all residents were very well cared for and DOH believe them. They claim, the pandemic was a unprecedented unforeseeable event and they had perfect infection control but still suffered losses. The second wave is coming... Question your NH ADM. about their preparedness... Will there be a communication person? Alternate? How much PPE in stock? How long will PPE last based on manufacture recommendation? Will they have to choose who gets H2O? Where does additional staff come from? how many consecutive shifts would a staff member be expected to work? ADM at my mom NH refused to answer questions but advise me that he would be happy to fill out the paper work to transfer her to another! If we do not hold them accountable we will experience the same. Use email proof that you asked the right questions. Do not be placated anymore.

Today we learned that a newly admitted pt tested positive, adding 28 days. Why not require a rapid antigen test before admitting anyone? With the home at less than half capacity, this could happen 126 more times.

Please help with allowing love ones visit loved ones in nursing home. It’s vital for mental health of both the resident and the visitor.

I have visited immune compromised family members in the hospital where they were in isolation and you had to hear up. The nursing homes can figure out a safe protocol similar to what is implemented for isolation patients for family visits. It’s cruel and against the resident’s well being to harshly restrict their family visits.
