My mother is in a nursing home in Albany NY. She is 108 years old and I haven’t seen her since mid March except for window and FaceTime visits. How much longer does she have and why are you making it so impossible for me to visit with her. The weather is perfect for outdoor visits and your 28 day free ruling is so impractical. When is the last time you hugged your mother?

Let them have visitors some never have any. Wake up you are going to do schools. At least let them visit outside. People are going to hospitals now. Here in Amsterdam they are going in and of assistant living places

I am so happy to learn that other families are engaged in this action. I have not seen my mom since march and am longing to see her. Politicians seem insensitive to families. Alzheimer's clients respond to person to person.. not phone calls. I am willing to help. THANKS

I’ve only been able to see George through the window one time since March 12 and his eyes welled up in tears were coming down his face thank God he still knew me I was there every day Visiting him and bringing Him some special treats before COVID-19. He has Alzheimer’s and he needs to know I’m there by his side and that he is very loved! Please do the right thing before it is too late!

We are reopening schools, restaurants, and visitation to prisons but nursing homes remain locked down. The 28 day requirement is unfair and harmful to the residents. Isolation has the same impact as smoking 15 cigarettes a day and yet even if family members agree to be tested and present a negative result, they can't see their loved one.

This is the most critical issue facing residents of nursing homes. My 90+ year old parents were used to a visit with me almost every day in their Albany nursing home. I have not been able (like everyone), to see them for these past five months, due to the Coronavirus. While I fully understand the need for safety pre-cautions, it seems that that could similarly be accomplished. While I am most certainly grateful that my Mom and Dad are alive, their dementia has progressed exponentially during this time. They do not really understand why I have not been in to see them in all this time. Similarly, the same with their five adult grandchildren whom they adore. They no longer know their names or know how to use a telephone to call or pick up a phone. We have kept them alive, but now, we need to give them a reason to live. Please show some compassion- let family visitors take a COVID test, practice safe visitation, meet outside, etc, etc. Certainly we can conquer this. Thank you! Sorelle Leslie Brauth

It is time to lift this onerous and ridiculous 28 day COVID Free requirement. The Governor could send COVID infected patients into Nursing Homes, but he won’t allow loving family members to visit. Disgraceful!

14 days!!!

Today is Day 144 that I have not seen my husband - he is in a Physical Rehab Facility in Brooklyn - they had 1 COVID+ test result on July 29th and the clock resets for 28 days. It is painful for the 180+ residents and families to have this restriction. 144DAYS!!!! Please help us see our loved ones. And with one COVID+ and no symptoms this could be a false positive - we need to have visitation. Begging for a change for the 28 day rule.....begging.

Haven't seen my husband since beginning of March. Cruel and Inhuman to my husband, me and our children.

It's long past time to open nursing homes for family visits!

I too have not seen my mother since March 26 she is deteriorating from the isolation I agreed with the lock down in the beginning. But what has been done to my mother and everybody in these facilities by the governor and the way this has been handled is a slow agonizing isolated death. This has just strengthen my faith in God seeing so much evil around us at this time in history God bless all of you and let’s hope we get to see them again.
