As an alumni of UC Berkeley's engineering departments, I'm not at all happy with the presence of misogyny in science, technology, and engineering spaces, and am happy to support the ousting of those who perpetuate it, particularly those in positions of power.

It's outrageous, but not at all surprising, that we need to have a petition for this. Clearly, the UC Administration approve of the actions, and inactions, of these two. They fit right in with the rest of UC management. Disgusting!

As an alumni, I want UC Berkeley to be an institution that I can be proud of on all levels. Accountability for workplace harassment is absolutely essential. This is a basic step that needs to be taken.

I join in the outrage at the virulent sexism and harassment of my coworkers allowed to go on at UC Berkeley. Chancellor Christ, we are waiting for accountability RESULTS and restitution.

As a long-time dev in academia, I am hugely disappointed to hear this is happening at UCB. The Academic IT community needs to come together to make sure it doesn't happen anymore, and that means removing people who allowed it.

Vanessa Kaskirls should be reimbursed for her expenses. Time is up - Poor behavior has to stop now. Management has to be held accountable not protected. HR at UC are aware that they have a problem with bad managers. When I complained to HR they agreed with me and said, I could apply for another position and hope to get a better manager. Where is accountability. UC needs to clean house NOW...

Disgraceful and shocking situation. I think a GoFundMe should be set up for Vanessa Kaskiris so we can all help her with her legal costs. I hope something can be done to hold those responsible accountable, even after all that has already been attempted. Proud of the women who stood up for what is right, and horrified that they went through this. Time’s Up!

#TimeIsDefinitelyUp This is not new. I remember one of my colleagues commenting in the early 1980s about the appropriateness of making the Campanile the symbol of UC Berkeley, especially because it's pointed on top.
