Thank you Vanessa for being brave and stand up for yourself and all women.

Shocking that the original investigator (per the Pando article) didn't believe the women because their stores were TOO congruent - required a man's opinion to make her believe bias was happening...

Our colleagues should be treated with respect, and judged on the values and skills that they bring to the table, not their gender. Time is up!

Conrad's lip service is a well-known joke, as is Cal's policy of institutional protectionism. The only way to spur real action is to publicly shame them, which is, well, a damn shame.

Unfortunately I am not at all surprised. Misogyny is prevalent here at UC Berkeley.

It's about time that the sexist culture that persists in probably too many of the departments at Berkeley is addressed, and that those who perpetrate it and allow it to continue are held to account. It is a very psychologically damaging situation.

I'm most shocked by how a discussion between Kaskiris and Conrad did not occur. There should be proper steps towards resolution, not retaliation.

To underscore the willful blindness, the Excellence in Management Award was given to Ben Gross in 2014 and to Bill Allison in 2015. I served on those selection committees and if we had heard from the women among their direct reports, those awards would NOT have been given. It's time to live up to our stated mission and values and do right by our people. Nota bene: I'm Cal '02 and a member of the Benjamin Ide Wheeler Society.

I am appalled by the lack of appropriate action that had to be taken by IT department's upper management.

This is so shocking!! I hope UC Berkeley takes these issues very seriously and take action NOW!! Don't just say and Do nothing!!

Its important for UC to offer an unbiased and confidential place to report such issues, and to recognize that there are many ways -- often subtle -- for people to be denied access and equal opportunity in the workplace. There MUST be a route for intervention.

I am saddened and angered for my colleagues and UCB, an institution that I love. I am so disappointed in the IT leadership team for not stepping up to fix earlier missteps, and for not caring enough to ensure a culture where this behavior is not tolerated.

IST Director of HR, Anne Walls, has recommended using 'budget cuts' to eliminate positions of women who complain about harassment, discrimination and unequal pay. Anne Walls would further go on and fabricate reports to cover up for her actions. Liz Marsh knows of this behavior. Larry Conrad knows of this behavior. Lyle Nevels knows about this behavior. UC leadership knows about this behavior. Anne Walls got a contract extension after this became part of the record. If your position is eliminated by budget cuts it might actually be retaliation if your lawyers need the written evidence just contact me: https://twitter.com/JudgeX7

I filed a complaint about UCB’s user-unfriendly sexual harassment infrastructure back in the early 90’s. The EEOC threatened to remove federal funds if administrators didn’t clean up their act. Some improvements were made. It’s very sad for this alum to see how NOTHING has changed for women on campus since then. Allison and Conrad need to go. Times up on tone-deaf, rich white male administrators covering up for male harassers. Enough already!!!
