West Edmonton Mall administration has decided to extend mandatory store hours. Starting in January 2005, all retail stores will be required to stay open until 9:00PM on Saturdays. The change will be permanent and year round, not just for the holiday season. This new closing time not only cuts into our rest periods, but also adds undue cost for business owners as extra staff will be required to fill the new shifts. We request that West Edmonton Mall revert the mandatory store hours back to a 6:00PM closing time on Saturdays.

9pm on a saturday is ridiculous. nobody is even shopping that late anyway, we just want to get home to our families!

THINK ABOUT THE EMPLOYEES!!! They have lives outside of this mall. Give them their saturday nights back.
