I also think it's all back to front. Only 20 seconds between points at grandslam level but 25 seconds at all lower level events. Quite ridiculous. Absurd

The rule should be abolished, it detracts from the excitement and anticipation for spectators and its given unfairly in many cases.

Why don't WTA apply this rule? because they are too honourable to apply such an invasive, disruptive rule. Hawkeye put an end to umpire power so the corrupt ATP need another channel to influence matches. IF IT CAN BE APPLIED ARBITRARILY IT IS UNDERHAND & CORRUPT & IT CANNOT BE A RULE. The lines, net, ball, bounce, racquets, conduct and nothing else determine the rules. ATP STOP THE CORRUPTION

The time limit itself makes no sense given the intensity of today's game. That's what needs to change. But if the 20 or 25 second rule must be, then enforce it consisently and not at crucial moments in the match. Get real.

Random time violation calls at the discretion of the umprie make the sport unprofessional. If it's so important, install a time clock so everyone can see it.

It is very unfair of the umpires (some more than others) to issue a warning at a crucial time in the match.eg. serving .A couple of umpires seem to have it in for Rafa especially and sometimes causes bad feelings.

100%. Agree to this petition! I see players ie. Nadal and Vasek Pospisil targeted and always called at the last second of a crucial game point. Never at the beginning or middle game point.
Last 2 Pospisil -Murray matches. Rotterdam, Murray had twice as many TV - only Pospisil penalized at crucial point of first set.
Today - WIMBLEDON 2015 mens quarter finals both Pospisil and Murray over time limits and only player penalized and at a crucial game point - Pospisil.
Mens slams 5 set ATP tennis should allow 25 seconds between points.
Show equality to all players and not just the top 2 or 3 who after long rally's can jack up the crowd to get the extra recovery time they need.

I feel like it should be taken care of very quickly. The rule should be applied equally to everyone not like it,s done to Rafa where umpire keeps staring at the watche only because they know it's Rafa and that he often goes over the time limit. On the other hand I feel like There should not be a time limit as short as they are now. Tennis is a sport of concentration and the serve is a precision shot and players should not be rushed in my opinion especially on important moments in the match. And today we see so many time violation given on crucial moments that have a clear impact on the outcome of a match and it,s a shame

Give warnings early to set the pace and apply them equally. Do not wait until break point or crucial point of the match. Unfair to all

This rule is archaic and inequity in application obvious. The common fan clearly finds it offensive in its current state and it is actually paradoxical from its intention. Shot clock would only create further challenges and would be distracting for all and unnecessary - let us focus on the things that matter and that people truly care about like keeping the sport clean. If time is of the utmost concern, why is set 5 ongoing or ATP vs ITF times different. Let's be real- at the highest level of any industry, this application of the rule that was heightened in the last couple of years is blatant incompetency and had clear underlying motives which have become as others have noted like a witch hunt. Let's revert to professionalism of applying rules and/or recognize that the evolution of the sport has made this rule archaic.

It is wrong that in some matches when both players are going over time only one of the players will be punished by a time violation always at a critical time in the set.

Great job by some of the most loyal Rafanatics to set this up and then spread the word. It has almost been like a political campaign to help generate support. The use of Vamos Brigade and other Nadal forums has been a great idea to spread the word.
Keep working hard to end this terrible rule which is hurting our boy so badly!

Time limitation is a poison for this sport and is a real problem for top players. It adds pressure when some players play at an incredible level and NEED time to rest to Give their best for us fans.
