This Petition is directed to all governing and sanctioning bodies including but not limited to:  The Association of Boxing Commissions (ABC Boxing), World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Organization (WBO), World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF), Global Boxing Union (GBU), International Female Boxers Association (IFBA), Women's International Boxing Federation (WIBF), Women's International Boxing Association (WIBA), International Boxing Association (IBA), World Professional Boxing Federatoins (WPBF), European Boxing Union (EBU), International Boxing Organization (IBO, North American Boxing Council (NABC), National Boxing Association (NBA), Florida State Boxing Commission, all other state boxing/athletic commissions and other boxing organizations not specially named herein.

The purpose of this petition is to propose rule changes to the timing and number of rounds in female professional boxing matches, not only for world title championships, but the timing in each round for non-title bouts.

The current rules, for only a few exceptions in certain areas in the United States, state that all bouts between females shall be scheduled for no more than ten rounds with each round lasting two minutes and that championship fights shall last ten rounds.

The rule change recommendation is that the rounds for female professional boxing matches be three minutes each instead of two minutes.  Also, that Championship title fights should be twelve rounds in duration, instead of ten round, or in some cases, eight rounds. These changes would promote equality and allow the opportunity for great sports moments to occur in that last minute of each round and in the last two rounds of championship fights.

These changes would also allow more time to get a feel for the opponent as well as indicate better conditioning strength of each female fighter.

There is a reason why the men's rounds are three minutes, but there is no clear reason as to why professional female boxers are not afforded the same round length and in essence, respect as the men are in the sport.

Every person signing this Petition requests the rules to be changed to afford female professional boxers an eequal opportunity in the sport.

The length of female mixed martial arts rounds are the same as the male mixed martial arts rounds.  There is no explanation or reason for the inequality in female professional boxing when it comes to round length and number of rounds in professional matches.

The Petitioners respectfully request these rule changes be proposed and adopted since female professional fighters have proven their conditioning, skills, heart and leadership in the ring and deserve the same opportunity in the ring as their male counterparts.
