Our Piedmont Ave. area is getting gentrified more and more. However, our ability to walk to our Post Office is an important asset to this community. Please go build somewhere else!

This post office meets the needs of a large community of senior citizens who must be able to walk to a local post office.. The plan to replace a
post office which serves everyone in the neighborhood with condos which serves only those who can afford to buy them is a disgrace.

I live by this post office. I don't drive. I hear that I would have to go all the way up to Montclair to pick up mail at a post office, two bus rids away. A very time consuming, inconvenient and $5 just to get to a post office; where I can walk to one in two minutes right now. It would be much easier for me to pick up mail at the 94610 post office on Lake Park, if "MY" post office closes. I doubt that's a possibility. This post office is a valuable part of our community.

This is the only post office within walking distance. This closure will impact many people; especially the elderly. Please keep it open!

This post office is an essential spot for residents to receive mail and packages. The 41st Street post office helps alleviate theft of mail and parcels from area residents.

Please don't take away our local post office. I live in the neighborhood, I'm 70 years old and I use the post office often to buy stamps, mailing containers and to mail parcels. Our neighborhood is already becoming very dense with new multi-unit living complexes.

How can we help the post office remain? We certainly don't need more cars and parking increases.

Smart growth means creating a win-win for both current residents and developers... Is there a reason the condos couldn't include a ground-floor retail space which could host our neighborhood post office? We shouldn't have to sacrifice public services to accommodate population growth. Intelligent city leadership should be able to find a way to continue meeting public needs by thinking creatively.

This post office is constantly busy and short staffed. Closing down this location would greatly inconvenience many of the residents and business in this vicinity. It would also add significantly to vehicular traffic and parking nightmares if everyone had to drive towards downtown Oakland to get to another post office. We don't need condos in this location at the expense of "livability" for Piedmont ave.

Local PO contributes to civic pride, community identity, is the sole location which can serve to re-connect people per natural disasters, and in civil defense and bio-medical emergency response, improves walkability (eco-friendly) and lastly, it's patriotic.

I am very much against this. It would be very hard for our seniors, and the rest of us. We would need to drive to a post office. There goes the walkable score. I remember when the library was in a small building nearby, and now it is a store for upscale home goods. What a loss.

This P.O. AND its parking lot are very important to somewhat-disabled people like myself. Please save them both! Thank you.

I'm concerned that if this post office was to close, I would not have any mailing options within walking distance! As it is, this one is already 5 blocks away. I am 67 yrs.
