Threatened Loss of Piedmont Station, U.S. Post Office, Oakland CA 94611

I lived in this neighborhood for 10 years, and subsequently have continued to use this post office for 17 years since moving away. It is heavily used, and very important to everyone who live nearby -- not to mention that it helps minimize driving and pollution by allowing many to aggregate errands in the neighborhood.

It would be a grave loss not to have this post office, it serves many residents and their families and is very needed! Please save this post office! Thank you for your consideration.

We need a post office for this zip code. There is no substitute. This post office serves a densely-populated comment, has always had infuriatingly long lines and no parking in their small lot, but still, it is necessary and convenient for the hundreds of business people and residents in the Piedmont Ave, Piedmont, Broadway corridors who rely on the USPS for business and personal mail services.

The Piedmont USPS is incredibly important to running my small, one-person business! The folks here are informative and helpful, and this post office is extremely accessible for me! Please don't take it away!!

Why would you get rid of this post office?! It's very heavily used, and would just make traffic at other post offices worse. The government needs to be spending tax dollars on services for the community and not keep selling things off to private developers.

Please do not close the U.S Post Office at 195 40th Street, a valuable community asset. For many of the residents, of all ages, it provides a vital and convenient place to conduct personal, civic and professional postal business. I visit the office 2 - 3 times a week.

I live near Piedmont Ave, but used to live in Montclair. The present convenience of this PO is obvious, but folk from Montcliar & Piedmont also use this facility heavily. It's not JUST a neighborhood resource!

This post office is vital to the community as well as a draw for business to the Piedmont Avenue merchants. We need this office!

That area is already invested with apartments and condos. The need to place more isn't worth it. The post office conveniently placed so consumers with parcels, mail and p.o boxes can easily access it without the hassle of traveling out. More condos in that area will only make it more congested and with congestion more crimes start to occur. Please leave this establishment alone and look for land instead of property. The staff and the facility is a great place to come to.
