Threatened Loss of Piedmont Station, U.S. Post Office, Oakland CA 94611

this is my favorite local post office. it has easy access for the disabled, and is the only PO i know with that automated postage machine thing in the lobby. very convenient. this will be a big loss for the neighborhood.

I live on Gilbert St. and have always relied on this post office.

Our walkable neighborhood must not lose our post office! If you look at a map of post offices in the area you can see how strategically the Piedmont post office is located.

The proposed building that would replace the Piedmont Ave. Post Office would serve very few people while creating a major disservice for thousands of residents of the area. Piedmont Ave. area is a walking/cycling neighborhood and removing this key facility would force thousands of people into their cars. I don't believe the Temescal post office can stand the extra traffic AND it is very difficult to park at that office.

Very important locally. I live closer to another Post Office but always come to this one, as many others do--always a line, but well handled. Do not close, please!

I use this post office to send out packages approximately twice a month. As a resident of the area, the absent of a local post office would cost me in time and convenient. With the exception of around 10:30 am (which is when I always go), there are always lines at this post office. Give its importance to the local community, it would be a shame if it were to close.

Please spare this post office. It really works for our community. I have used it as a resident of both Piedmont and Oakland.

This is the only post office serving our neighborhood. Please protect it.

We need the post office.They are already building condos.Down the block.

This postal facility is vital to the residents and businesses in this part of Oakland.

The last thing we need is more high end condos, driving costs up. We DO need our community staples to remain intact. Do not take our post office!

I have lived in the Piedmont Avenue area for over 30 years. I do not drive and so depend on this post office as do my aging and extremely disabled father and aging mother who also live in the Piedmont Avenue neighborhood area. I do believe that housing is needed but not at the expense of the services that the current and future residents of this vibrant and diverse neighborhood will continue to need many of whom have also lived in the neighborhood for decades and many who are also aging and need public services accessible and close to home including this local post office.

Please save the Piedmont Post Office! I have been a customer and PO Box holder for many years, for professional and personal use, and very much rely on the services.

Please keep the post office fully operational on Piedmont Ave.
