Royal Mail workers parking cars on Thorpe Astley Residential Estate

Annoying & dangerous

I have previously complained to the council about this as it is an ongoing problem that is getting increasingly worse over time. Pulling out of Burchnall Road onto Foxon Way is extremely difficult as you have to pull half-way out into the middle of the main road to try and see if there is any traffic coming, and on many occasions you are then greeted by another car coming towards you at speed. I feel particularly vulnerable pulling out of the street with my child in the car! Vehicles park all the way up to (and sometimes overhanging) the entrance to Burchnall Road. There are also a number of Royal Mail workers who park on Burchnall Road itself (albeit slightly more considerately); however our quiet residential street should not be used for this purpose due to Royal Mails lack of facilities.

It's so dangerous, if you are coming out of Burchnall Road you can't see the traffic to the right or left. Nearly been cleared up a few time driving up Foxon towards the Royal Mail, have dash cam evidence

Coming home at half five in the evening it is very dangerous having to drive on the opposite side of the road where you are blinded by on coming traffic due to the huge amount of cars parked all the way down Foxon way. If there hasn't been an accident yet because of this I am very surprised.

Its dangerous as it restricts vision pulling out of the Burchnall road. An Accident waiting to happen. Something has to be done!

I have to drive out out Burchnell Road every day and every day cars are parked upto and sometimes beyond the junction, this making it very dangerous as my view is totally blocked to traffic, l then have to drive almost to the center of the road to get a clear view and on many occasions being nearly hit by another car .l Would very much appreciate this be sorted and employees find alternative parking places less dangerous or use their place of works carpark .

This is an absolute nightmare. Not only do they park on the main road (which is a bus route) they also park on Burchnall Road and Rivets Meadow Close. The junction is dangerous with the cars inconsiderately parked. Does it take a major accident to get this sorted?

My concern is when I turn right into Owen Close. To make this manoeuvre I have to go on the wrong side of the road (as the left lane is taken up by parked vehicles) and I am fearful that a speeding car coming from the opposite direction will hit me head on. The road bends and so you do not have a clear vision of what's ahead. The number of vehicles parked down Foxon Way are increasing and causing a hazard to residents and pedestrians.

You cannot pull off the roundabout safely as cars are parked right up to the corner. It's bad enough getting past the bus that stays stationary for ages.

I wait for the bus on the corner of burchnall road and Foxon way, the amount of near misses for drivers attempting to pull out of burchnall on to foxon way is ridiculous. It is an accident waiting to happen

I agree. This has been a problem pulling out of Owen Close on many occasions.

I agree i live on burchnall road and have had many times i have not been able to pull out onto foxon way safely, i have even had a near miss accident as i had my view completey blocked from traffic coming off the island.

About time someone started a petition for this. There has been numerous times that i have had to slam on coming off the roundabout onto Foxon Way, while traffic was coming in the opposite direction.
