We have also curtailed any walking on this road because of pedestrian safety.

Would love to have sidewalks and be able to walk to the Basin.

I've often wondered why there is no sidewalk in this section. Thank you for pushing for. Safer road.

I agree, we really need a sidewalk on this section. Very dangerous.

The road is dangerous. No one who drives through respects and obeys the speed limit. As a voter and taxpayer I believe this should be a priority of safety and concern for our town. Children and cyclists are not safe.

I too fear for the safety of pedestrians on this stretch of road -
the blind spots as a driver and the bikers/walkers near the road are extremely unsafe. Not only will this help to avoid a tragedy the sidewalk will help to further connect to local businesses to our community.

I grew up in this area and used to ride my bike on this stretch of road to get to Bushnell's Basin. It was quite scary once the sidewalk ended, especially around the bend mentioned in this petition. Now my 3 boys are growing up here, and we will not ride/walk to the Basin over safety concerns with Thornell Rd. If there was a sidewalk, we could ride or walk there regularly and patronize some of our favorite local businesses again!

My son bikes to the basin and I'm always nervous about that area because I know that cars tend to go into the shoulder often at that curve

As a local high school coach, this is an access road to the canal trail that we avoid due to the safety hazard. Improvements would be great!

It's a blind turn & I worry every time I see people (kids!) walking on that side. There's so much distracted driving too so for me it's a safety issue. The benefit of more walkers to the Basin would be good too:)

I drive this road to and from work every day. It's a perfect example of how our communities are built for cars but not for people. Please don't wait until someone is seriously injured or killed to make this road safe for pedestrians.
Sidewalk on Thornell road PLEASE
