EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and has been a concern of the residents of this area for many years. We need a sidewalk so that the neighbors can SAFELY walk to the Basin.

Thank you for starting this! I live on East St with little ones and while we love that we have such an active pedestrian/bike riding/runner community, I wish we had sidewalks to keep us safe! People need to slow down but I dont want to limit my and my children's activity due to a lack of safety. I don't live on 390!

I am very glad this is being petitioned. It seems silly that this is the only part of the road that is not sidewalked. Running and walking on that bend is VERY scary. Texting and driving is a serious concern. Hoping the town listens to us... mind as well do it with all the other construction happening right now!

Please, it is only a matter of time before this issue becomes fatal. With the growing number of drivers who text and drive, this portion of the road is absolutely 'unwalkable' or 'bikeable'.

I've heard this has been in the plans for a while. Please prioritize this and finish the sidewalk soon.

Some town codes make bilders install where it's mostly country, this area has a greater potential for pedestrians & bike riders than most. Attractions at the canal have increased pedestrian traffic and speed is not enforced like it should be.

This is a very dangerous curve for pedestrians as well as bicyclists. Drivers frequently cross the double yellow line going west, forcing eastbound drivers to cut onto the eastbound inside shoulder.

Vehicles frequently cut the corner, endangering pedestrians

I share Joe's concerns. Babies in strollers and 10 yr olds on bicycles use this curve on Thornell Road. Do not make it four lanes wide, just add a walkway for bicycles and strollers. SG

I live in Bushnell's Basin and enjoy running in our neighborhoods. Thornell Road is dangerous for walkers, runners and bicyclists.

This safety measure is long overdue. Since there are 'blind' curves in both directions auto and motorcycle traffic tend to lean to the right to avoid colliding with oncoming traffic. In doing so they tend to encroach on the narrow shoulders of the road endangering unseen pedestrians and bicyclists.

Please add pedestrian and bike safe access to this stretch of road. It would keep people safe while helping businesses and congestion in the Basin.

Thornell is scary busy and it would be great to complete a safe walking corrider from the basin to the Park Road/East street neighborhood.

Two young children who will be attending thornell school. Yeah it makes me nervous that there's no sidewalk for them to walk on or ride their bikes

Let's connect our neighbors. There is only benefit.

Glad you're pressing for this- it's a very dangerous spot and I often see young people walking Thornell to the Basin. Given the parks, schools and family neighborhoods around here the entire quadrant of Thornell/East/Park needs better accommodation for pedestrians and cyclists but this location should be a priority.
