The First to come the first to go the class of course is seven oh. Class of 1970, leave the name mascot and original picture of Jefferson with the hands below it alone. In 2970 those 3 hands were to be white and black but I’m not sure it was allowed. If not change it to a black and white hand. I suppose the people wanting change has no idea about this

No one has ever done so much to advance the cause of human freedom than Jefferson.
Don't let woke scolds cancel the man who declared that "all men are created equal"

History is all about context--focus on the positive things Jefferson and others did. Or give every school a number. Like in NY

I’m a 1971 graduate. Many students and faculty alike, may not be aware: The hand shake on the Raiders crest is of a person of Color and a Caucasian. Representing Freedom for all American Citizens.

I am a member of the Class of 1984 and my sister is a member of the Class of 1995. I believe that changing the name is completely ridiculous.

We need education not indoctrination. Changing the name would be a complete disrespect to our founding fathers and a disgrace to our City.

I am a 76 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. Please do not change the name of the school. President Jefferson was a highly educated, thoughtful leader, who wasn't perfect. The decadents of Thomas Jefferson and Sally Heming's are a positive example of families trying to work together to figure out their mutual history.
