Our country was founded by highly educated, honest, God loving people that wanted everyone to have the ability to live with freedom to choose how they lived. No "man" is without sin but that should not take away from the good he does in his/her life. We have always honored people for the good they have done but when something is named after someone or a monument is created it always people to think about that time in our history and the people living at that time which we hope will create curiosity for people do research and see what the history is behind these people. What a great opportunity to see how a man turned his views about slavery and actually helped started the path to end slavery in America. Removing history had always been a bad idea and the more you stop learning about history the more you will repest it and as everything else it usually is the evil things that seem to be repeated. Please do not change the name of Thomas Jefferson High School. Thank you

Let's stop this "Ready Fire Aim" approach to problem solving. Learn from the past, rather than trying to erase it. Stop trying to badmouth whites who aren't here to defend themselves. They have their rightful place on our nation's history.
