Thomas Jefferson served as the third President of the United States from 1801 to 1809. Among other things, he was the principal author of the Declaration of Independence, facilitated the Louisiana Purchase which nearly doubled the size of America, abolished the slave trade and founded the University of Virginia

History is just that 'history'. Thomas Jefferson is known for way more good that this country has experienced than bad. I would say his good to bad far outweighst any teacher or board member.

Thomas Jefferson, like all humans, had his flaws. He also was a large part of forming our country. Learn from his flaws and celebrate his contributions to our country. Keep his name on this high school, my alma mater.

There is nothing wrong with the name the school was given when it opened. Stop trying to make stupid people happy. They need professional help, not coddling.
