Tired of cancel culture!! If you take away history it will repeat itself.. good or bad..

I graduated from TJ in 93 and find this name change ridiculous. I take allot of pride in telling people I’m a TJ graduate.
Do not succumb to cancel culture and all things ridiculous. Keep the name and the honor.

Cancel culture advocates assume that the specially selected sins of other people (not their own of course) in the past deserve special punishment and erasure today. But why should we stop there? By that same logic, many who consider cancel culture a sin against history and community could similarly demand that the names of cancel culture advocates be erased from the list of graduates of their alma mater/high school. This is a very dangerous slippery slope. Don't start down it or we will end up canceling everyone each other for sins petty and great. It is good to remember a similar incident recorded in the Gospel of John:
"The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

This is absolutely ridiculous to change a school's. Are we going to just keep changing history for the worst or are we going to stand up and take responsibility for our actions.

As a TJ alumni, I object to any name change. It should remain Thomas Jefferson. A small group of people looking for any excuse to be offended should not be catered to. TJ is a part of MY history and my opinion should be given equal consideration.
