Since Facebook is a social media website, it is a great tool to make friends, keep in contact with people and play games. However, it is also abused by people who cyberbully others; blocking/reporting someone is virtually pointless, because it's possible to create multiple accounts. That being said, it is completely possible to be really mean to someone on Facebook without actually cyberbullying them. In order to be cyberbullying, the behavior must: a) be done on the Internet, through text message, phone calls, face time or all/a combination of the above; b) be purposely harmful/humiliating in an emotional and/or relational manner; c) be repeatable (keep in mind, it only takes one humiliating video to cyberbully someone b/c that video can be viewed multiple times by many people) and d) be done by someone who has power over the person being bullied ( in other words it must be done in a way that makes it difficult for the person being bullied to retaliate, ignore or stop the behavior).

Therefoare, Facebook should change the website so that people have the option to assign specific ringtones to specific people/groups of people. That way, it won't matter how many accounts a cyberbully creates, because the person will know not to read the message themselves. This petition deserves the support of everyone for the following reasons:

1) not only does it negatively affect the overall health of the person being bullied as well as the people who witness it, but it can also negatively impact the society overall of the person who cyberbullies if they bully people in person too, which is oftentimes the case. Further details about this can be found here:http://www.stopbullying.gov/at-risk/effects/

2) a person can play multiple roles in bullying, which means they can be impacted by cyberbullying in multiple ways

3) such side effects can last longer than the bullying itself

4) cyberbullying is NOT "just a joke". Jokes are not intended to be harmful; cyberbullying ALWAYS is.

Therefore, the entertainment felt by the people who cyberbully ISNT WORTH IT. Help me end the cycle on Facebook
