Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band formed in Dublin in 1969. The two founding members, drummer Brian Downey and bass guitarist/vocalist Phil Lynott met while still in school. Lynott assumed the role of frontman and led them throughout their recording career of thirteen studio albums. Thin Lizzy are best known for their songs "Whiskey in the Jar", "Jailbreak" and "The Boys Are Back in Town", all major international hits still played regularly on hard rock and classic rock radio stations. After Lynott's death in 1986, various incarnations of the band have emerged over the years based around guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes, though Sykes left the band in 2009. The band still tour under the name Thin Lizzy, with Scott Gorham, Brian Downey, Darren Wharton, Ricky Warwick, Marco Mendoza and Damon Johnson.

The emails to the nomination committee are still going unanswered but I am not letting this go. It is exhausting to watch such an important legacy get overlooked year after year while we wait for some sign of progress.

Reaching this point has been a long and draining road that tested my patience more than I care to admit. Seeing so many of you connect with this mission reminds me why I started this fight in the first place. We still have a mountain to climb but I am not walking away from this yet.

Thin Lizzy belong at the very top of the rock and roll hall of fame! It’s a travesty they have not been inducted as early as the late 90s and have been snubbed for 25 years! Justice needs to be served. I will never visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or set foot in the city or Cleveland until they are made members.

How have they been ignored for this long?? Absolute joke. Phil Lynott is a legend and the band deserves their spot immediately.
