Our loved ones are dying from isolation induced dementia. Staff who go home to their families, friends & “outside life” who have no vested interest in our LO’s come & go in their rooms but we can’t even have outdoor visits b:c of staff positives! They are a greater risk than we are! Let us see our family!

My 59 year old Brother Dale had a severe Hemorrhagic Stroke on March 12, while on vacation with our parents needing emergency brain surgery. Several days after they locked down all the hospitals. He has been alone in a vegetative state up until July. While in The Grande in Utica he started to get pneumonia and was taken to the hospital where we were allowed to visit for several days until he was returned to the nursing home (Oneida Extended Care). He woke up when we were allowed to visit him and seemed to know who we were and was able to understand the questions we asked. He cried and let us know he wanted to go home. We have not been allowed to actually visit him since then and have noticed him getting gradually worse and shutting down/sleeping all day (can you blame him?). It absolutely breaks our hearts knowing that he has had to face such a terrifying experience ALONE, without family or loved ones. It’s INHUMAN and CRUEL to do this to someone‼️He cannot move, talk or communicate and they recently stopped his Physical Therapy so he is basically just lying there in the hospital bed all day alone for months and he seems to be deteriorating without the love, comfort and touch he so DESPERATELY NEEDS from his family. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fight for FAMILY to be allowed to visit‼️

Our families need us. This is morally wrong and every right has been striped from our loved ones.Time to take back our families!

Through following safety guidelines and social distancing, the residents and families should have a safe meeting place inside the facility for those who opt for visitation. Even hospitals allow visitors. Change needs to happen!

Our family hasn’t seen our mom in 7 months since Covid started. Nursing Home Lives Matter! We need to see our mom or anyone else who has a family member. This is not fair to keep us from our family.

Something needs be done. Residents need to be able see their family and know they are there for them and haven't forgotten they are there

its not fair and taking a toll on these residents. I understand keeping them safe but they are depressed and confused and need family
