Final supporters
We are extending our invitation to all members of the society to pledge solidarity with us, Xhosa students of University of Wits in boycotting the movie called ‘The Wound-Inxeba’.
The ritual that this movie is centered around is a secret and sacred thing. What happens in the mountains of kwaXhosa stays there, it is not for public consumption and this ritual has been practiced for as long as time itself. In what we have witnessed on the trailer, the movie is also promoting a false narrative about the Xhosa ritual.
There are obviously are a number of negative outcomes that can be a result of this false narrative. The immediate thing that we can think of would be the decision making process that has to be made by parents (mothers) when it comes to the cultural initiation school. In the same breath, the Xhosa boys will have a negative perception about the ritual because of the false narrative on the movie. We must then make it known that this movie is only focused at commercializing the Xhosa culture and not promoting it in a good light.
We are then calling for this movie to be banned in our country and possibly everywhere. It should not be shown in any public platform. We are setting precedence. Our cultures should be protected by law as incidents like this have happened before.
We are mobilizing the society by making them to understand we are not homophobic. We are requesting EVERYONE in the society to form solidarity with us in boycotting the movie and talk about the issue in all different kinds of mediaUpdates

We have reached one hundred signatures which confirms that many people share our concerns regarding the protection of sacred cultural practices. This initial milestone shows that people recognize the importance of keeping these traditions private and free from commercial exploitation. We will continue to advocate for the respect our rituals deserve.

South afrika is a rainbaw nation with diferant cultures and everyone's culture has its own secretly way of doing things according to our tradition no one outside of our culture should know about our private way of doing things this movie is going to ruin our culture.
This is not about intolerance, it is about protecting something that is sacred to us from the few who want to use it for fame and commercial success. It is not fair to the millions of men out there who understand the importance of the process.
This movie must be banned,It will reveal things that were not supposed to be know by many people. Including boy's, girls and women's. So let us respect our Xhosa culture..'masingalahli imbo ngophoyiyana mawethu ,masihloniphe isiko lethu.
I'm totally against this movie and it must be banned. This movie is abusive to us who have been there. It's not something to be shown in public as we were not doing it in public. The guy who made this movie possible didn't even go there.
This is very much disrespectful to the Xhosa Culture as some things like "Isiko lokwaluka" are not allowed to be revealed to anyone. As a young Xhosa woman , this is very uncomfortable and disrespectful for me to watch or even talk about it.

Kubhentsiswa isiko lethu ngendlela embi kakhulu kule movie, I'm not any level supporting that rubbish of a movie that was made to make a profit out of my culture's exposure and or expense...my culture is not for sale and is not a taboo. INXEBA THE WOUND MUST FALL!!!
