I've been to this site several times now and I agree that it is great for the community. The guys running the place take great care maintaining and improving the site, and keep the place clean. Their enforcement of the use of biodegradable bbs keeps the area environmentally clean. I've enjoyed my visits to the site and had planned to visit again in the future.

As a local dog walker that frequently walks around the old water works up Garshake, I believe that the planning is a good development to the derelict site and a good use of idle land. Since work began at the old water works I have noticed that no youngsters now go up to the derelict building to drink, making me feel much safer when walking the dog and must make the rest of the dog walkers/residents of housing/ staff and residents of the care home feel alot safer too. When the site was first opened I noticed a large difference in the appearance of the land and building conditions which took the eye sore out of the top of Garshake. I am all for the airsoft site being part of the community.

Any local business that brings in outside customers to an area should always be welcomed as the players have a potential to contribute to the local economy either before, during or after the games by shopping in local stores. If the local people could appreciate the type of people that participate in the hobby/sport, they would realise that its plumbers, carpenters, engineers, tradesmen and well mannered youngsters who have the potential to do really well in life. Embrace change and grow with it.

It’s an activity that provides both physical and mental agility as well as being great for team building and leadership. Noise levels during the activity are quieter than an average game of bowls and doesn’t tear up the countryside unlike some so called two wheeled sports.

Typical west Dunbartonshire , putting a stop to something that is good for the community and something that will maybe bring jobs to the area along with more footfall.

Would they prefer it just to go back to being a bit of waste land where kids could easily get hurt and cause mayhem for the residents or have it where kids and adults can have a good laugh and great bonding experience .

A ridiculous idea to close down a site that helps keep people active whilst encouraging team work and innocent socializing. Yes, let it go back to being an eyesore and a dumping ground, makes total sense

Any outdoor activity that gets youngsters or adults off the couch and away from TV/computers has got go be supported. Managing the site seems like a win win for everybody.
