This is like having a casual sign saying "this is where Hitler gassed some Jews" in Germany. This belongs in a museum or an APPROPRIATE sign that is a memorial to the VICTIMS. Not the "market" of human beings.

The “Market” has been there since before I was born. It is most definitely a symbol of hate and oppression towards people of color. Time to get rid of it!!!

The building serves no purpose except the reminder of the atrocity of slavery, lynching, and segregation. African-American teenagers and young adults cringe when they drive by the building and are told the history of the Market. It says to the young people does this town want me here!

Remove this to a museum where folks who's grand and great grandparents were sold off add if they were animals do not need to see this every day!! What a horrible thing to be proud of... y'all's ancestors sold HUMAN BEINGS.

I have lived in Louisville most of my life and this historical symbol as it is referred to is a constant reminder of the past and how we can never move forward. Louisville is stuck in the past and refuse to progress towards growth in all areas, especially economically and socially.

The is symbolmatic of a very painful history that wasn't only the worst in America, but the world! It needs to be relocated to a museum and people learn the truth about this painful history so its never repeated.
