Dear Summit Aquatic Center,
Many of the children on the Summit Sharks Swim Team are involved or would like to be involved in other camps during the Summer. By having practice for 50 minutes or an hour in the morning, makes it virtually impossible for them to be involved with other camps like Flash and all the programs the Rec Center offers. Most other towns the Summit Sharks compete against have smaller pools.They are still able to hold practice and meets after 3 PM to accommodate the Summer camp schedule of the swimmers.
We respectfully ask that for the 2014 Summer, the Summit Sharks switch their practice and meet schedules until after 3 PM. This will alleviate a major headache to the Summer schedule of many members of the Summit Sharks.
The bottom line is this: The children love this affordable program but parents that do need to work (even part-time) need their children in a longer program than the current 50 minute swim practice.

I actually disagree with this. My children will probably not be able to be on the team if it changes. Getting the practice over in the morning and moving on with the day works for us. Also - my son plays baseball. The only way we can do both is that swimming is pretty much morning and baseball is evening.

I understand the desire to for children to do camps or Flash as well, but making the practices and meets in the afternoon or evening will affect the availablity of coaches and older teens who have summer jobs. We had a huge team with plenty of turn out last summer with the current schedule.
