Replacing the cyclone fence with an attractive, informative etched glass panel will add to the Revitalisation of the Station precinct. All of this will help energise the precinct and make the area more of a destination to visit.

My father was Stationmaster at Claremont just after WWII. Our family of 5 lived in the cottage and had to share it with the family of a returned serviceman, because housing was very short at the time. Five of us slept in one bedroom. The beds were all pushed together and from the door you walked across the beds to get to your own. It was the first time we had lived in the city and very exciting for all of us.

My grandfather, John T Manton was Stationmaster at Claremont after WWII.
