It’s really too bad that you didn’t do a little research about the deragatory meaning if the word sq*aw before naming your store. If you had, you could’ve saved yourself much trouble. Just as you wouldn’t use the N-word or sp*c in a business name, the word you chose has historical meaning and very real emotional trauma for indigenous people.

This word is derogatory to our aunties, mothers, sisters, grandmothers that has been co-opted and allows for stereotypes that often lead to violence, rape and murder of Indigenous women. It does not mean spunky!
