The unacceptable words of Mr. Polonis are sad, offensive, and despicable. They are words that should not be spoken by a leader in our community. His ideas do not represent me, or anyone I know of. I urge our BOD to remove Mr. Polonis and his hateful vitriol from his Board position immediately.

Bigotry is contrary to my values and demonstrates poor judgment. Personal beliefs aside, this demonstrates a lack of leadership skills. I join my neighbors in condemning this disqualifying behavior and demand for immediate removal from. Position of responsibility in the organization.

Everyone is entitled to free speech in our country however when a person goes against a minority and blast that persons name and address on a public social media post that is not right AND if this person is on the board of our lake community he needs to be booted off immediately. He has put this family in danger. If the board does not kick him out, then the entire board needs to go. Hate has no place in our community and our board needs to act immediatley

Our community needs leaders who are competent, compassionate, and inclusive to serve all residents on our BOD. We must be assured that they demonstrate these attributes in their daily actions including how they use social media to communicate. I have a gay nephew whom I love who is a contributing member of society and harms no one. I have worked with several LGBTQ individuals over my 50 year plus career as an educator & administrator and am sickened by the prejudicial comments the director has made on social media. This behavior is totally unacceptable for anyone elected to serve our community on the BOD! He must go….now!

As a lake resident I stand with the LGBTQ community and ask that anyone who has expressed hate be removed at once . There is no room in our community for this type of behavior and he should be ashamed

As a resident of the lake and grandmother of a gay man, I am surprised and disgusted by the comments made. Please resign from your position we cannot allow leaders who are as misguided as you are. Yes, everyone needs to feel safe at the lake. Please take my objection, seriously, as it is an important issue. These comments cannot be allowed to stand!

I vehemently disagree with what Don Polonis is reported to have done: i.e., engaging in some kind of online disagreement related to LGBTQ+ persons and publishing private identification of another party in that disagreement publicly (I gather that the location of that publication may have subsequently been made private). If this information is correct, it suggests to me that he feels his beliefs entitle him to taking such actions, indicating that these beliefs can be expected to be reflected in his behavior elsewhere, including his actions on our board. That is unacceptable, and, again, if the reported behavior is true, he therefore doesn’t belong in a position of leadership or decision-making for our community.
I have family members and many friends in the LGBTQ+ community, and I find that what is visible today on Polonis’ Facebook page is abhorrent to me. One of his comments attacks President Biden as a “pedifile [sic] who claims to be an RC [presumable meaning Roman Catholic] president.” Clearly Polonis sees himself as some sort of righteous proselytizer, self-anointed with a license to judge and condemn others as he sees fit. That is too dangerous to be part of the governing body of a community whose diversity (in all categories) I value and celebrate.
The board must activate whatever self-policing system the bylaws allow - or create one, if there is none already - investigate this situation and remove Polonis if all is as it appears to be.
