Don Polonis is an elected representative of a diverse community charged with making decisions that affect all of us who live at Lake Monticello. That he feels free to express his prejudice in any forum while serving as an LM Board member tells me that he doesn't have ALL of our community's best interests at heart and fails to take his role as a public representative of Lake Monticello seriously. As a result he has lost the trust of many. Would he have been elected if he had openly shared his views on the LGBTQ community as part of his platform? I don't know, but I would hope not. His resignation would be an act of integrity on his part and would reaffirm the legitimacy of the LM Board.

I hope more will come forward in support of this petition. This type of thinking is not representative of our community. Removal should be swift.

God doesn't make junk. Humans have no business passing judgment on others. We are the ONLY species that does it.

I agree that Don Polonis should be immediately removed from the LMOA BOD for his violation of the bylaws and his potential violation of the laws of Virginia. I hope action will be taken expeditiously by the Board of Directors.

By his words and actions, this board member apparently disrespects and devalues the office he holds, the organization he represents, and all members of LMOA community. I sincerely wish his posted words prove to be his parting words, as he immediately exits the LMOA Board of Directors.

If a Board member is unable to state what he is stating without disparaging remarks directed at any individual or group here at Lake Monticello then that person shouldn't be on the Board.

His comments are not acceptable for someone serving in a Board position.

There is no room in our community's governance for intolerance of any kind.

My extended family embraces a gay cousin and an LGBTQ niece and nephew. I feel strongly that everyone should feel safe and accepted in our community and this board member needs to go!

POTENTIALLY broken a law - I want to clarify, in the name of transparency!

He has violated LMOA policy and broken a Federal law. His overt hate (and callous behavior) have no place in our community.

It is inappropriate for a board member or anyone affiliated with the management of our HOA to share private emails sent to the board, and in particular to share personally identifiable information. This person should be forced to step down and the individual who was doxxed should seek legal remedy as well.

This type of if ignorance hatred and bigotry have no place in our community. I am a lifelong central Va resident and this type of attitude has no place in decent society. I have LGBTQ+ family and want them to feel safe visiting us

Hate has no place here. We must stand for what's good and what's right...love is love is love.
