In this day and time that we live in there is a segment of our population that is being unjutly and unfaiely treated, this is the plight of the homeless in Daytona Beach Fl. When we see the homeless we need to understand that 90% of Americans are only one months pay away from being homeless. We want to sare some of the unjust treatment that the homeless endure, these are as followes. Loritering in public parks and sidewalkes, unlawfull search and seizuers of backpaks and their contents such as clothing, personal Hygeian items, Personal informational items, such as Florida ID cards, social security cards, medi care medicade cards, Veterans Adminasrtation ID cards, Food stamp cards, Voter registration cards and Birth Certificates ect. Also personal family heirlooms and photos which are impossiable to replace. these items when taken are unlawfully discarded by the Daytona Beach police department. We would like the city to know that this unjust treatment must come to a stop. There are churches and private citizens that try to reach out to assist the homeless in our area that fall under the harrasment of the Daytona Beach police department, the item that they bring are confiscated and the food they bring is taken and trown in the trash. We the undersign are appalled and shocked at the treatment of another human being that is in such need also at the treatment of the ones who try to help. Please help us voice our concerns with your singniture on this petition. your help is greatly appreciated. God bless you.

I know what it is like being sad and confused ,due to severe abuse and trauma at home from my parents I left home and at the age of 13 and it was cold out .I was sad to see many homeless families, thank god i have a home and can help the homeless now any way i can with can goods or clothes , blankets and i also volunteer at the animal shelter if anyone comes across a homeless or hungry person please lend a hand in any way you can,and if you see an animal out in the cold call the animal shelter they will pick the animal up and take it to a warm shelter ,thank you, may all be fruitful this thanksgiving of 2014. please share a meal and may god bless you all. I have been fortunate and blessed by the Lord to have escaped the end of the road homeless shelter by staying with strangers because I own a small dog. She is my only companion, as my friends and family (out of state) are unable or uncaring in my situation. The churches for the most part (aside of immediate needs such as food and clothing) have directed me to other social services such as the Salvation Army which all require my dog must be given up; although I am assured this is temporary. Because it is SO cold here, a homeless person could not survive the elements outdoors under a bush. There is no homeless program or facility in the county of Ozaukee where I am in Wisconsin. The wife of the couple where I am currently staying with is advocating and spearheading the need for a facility in this county and is seeking the organizing of several churches as a whole to address the financial and functional requirements. The plight of the homeless is complex; employers have apprehension in hiring someone with no home; renters need an income to even offer subsidized housing, so the cycle is repeated with a spiral downward to the human spirit for recognition and independence. And that does not even consider any health issues that may arise.
