I am opposed to the proposal to place high density housing in the neighborhood of single-family homes in which I recently purchased my home

Develpment supporters should be ashamed of what they are doing here to the neighborhoods and the historical, cut-stone buildings dating back to the early history of the town of Napa.

Good design does not mean developing from sidewalk to sidewalk.

I support a balanced proposal for affordable home owner-occupied market-rate and senior housing, historic preservation, neighborhood conservation and a minimum of 2 parking spaces for each home owner in addition to 1 guest parking space for every unit.

The historic buildings and crescent should be preserved to serve the existing neighborhoods and a reasonable number of apartments. These should be dedicated to seniors, students and others who can transition to other housing. You cannot ignore the property is next to a juvenile jail facility. It is not suitable for family housing, or any population that could be influenced by the presence of the jail population.

A balanced approach is one that addresses ALL stakeholders' concerns. OSRNC's proposal does just that.

Low density, keep historic buildings, keep crescent grass area. And mostly...preserve this neighborhood

the neighborhood is asking for very little. the entire property should be recreational, there's nowhere to take kids in this town.

I am not from Angwin, by the way. I live in Old Town.

Let's explore the possibilities for adaptive reuse of these historic structures so that it complements infill housing and contributes to and preserves neighborhood character. So far, the only plan presented to preserve the historic buildings showed utter lack of imagination and was a non-starter. Let's invite a developer with experience in adaptive reuse and preservation-oriented tax credits to rethink this!

Don't build it

A balanced proposal is the way to go. If you put in all low income and lower, that is not balanced....

There is already too many high density housing in this area. Old Sonoma Road is already so congested with traffic in the mornings due to the middle school. This petition is a much more moderate and practical project for the area.

I do not want to see the historic buildings torn down but would prefer to see them re-purposed and incorporated into the plan. I do not believe this site is the proper location for density of the magnitude the city is proposing. Napa's historic buildings are part of what makes Napa beautiful and a destination. In my opinion it would be a grave injustice and long term mistake to not only destroy our history but cause other negative impacts in this community that could be much worse than the affordable housing issue.

I am not crazy about either plan being proposed. However, I would support the "old Sonoma Road NC" proposal over the supervisors. We already have a lot of traffic on California and Laurel. I feel this will exasperate the problem on California and not help Laurel street either. I think more effort should go into designing space for single family homes. There are already enough apartments in the area. I feel that adding more multi-tenet housing will erode home values in the immediate area.
