This is a very busy junction and the potential queues generated, like those by Aldi down the Kingston road, will render the bypass a single carriage way. Road users will therefore use the surrounding local roads to avoid the traffic jams. This does not accord with the Council’s recent spending around Epsom to alleviate traffic congestion! Furthermore, remember that Lidl previously flattened this historic building without permission. Did the Council ever sue?

I live in Timbercroft - the Aldi store in the Kingston Road is immediately opposite. We were assured that Timbercroft would not be affected but have a considerable increase in parking by Aldi shoppers which clogs up the road and creates a bottle neck at its Kingston Road entrance. Aldi do have a car park but it is frequently full and there are often queues in the Kingston Road causing another blockage. I anticipate that the similar problems will occur near the Organ & Dragon site. The application should be thrown out. E&EBC are under pressure to build houses - this is what the site should be used for.

We are horrified to hear that yet another application has been placed for Lidl to build on this site. It is totally the wrong place for such a store, traffic nightmare now and will not cope in the future. We oppose this as before.

I agree with the previous comments about Aldi. We could do with a well designed building with apartments for couples or single people, not another badly planned eyesore that will create more havoc for local residents.

Absolutely ridiculous to even consider this. Increased traffic plus queuing cars blocking the already very busy junction. Aldi parking access causes enough congestion and that has just one road feeding it. This has four!!!

If this development is allowed, there will be any massive increase in general disturbance from the comings and goings of extra traffic, possible huge delays causing queues of traffic back onto the Ewell by-pass at busy times; cause enormous inconvenience to local residents and even more delays to traffic passing through the area. A particularly stupid idea!

The traffic would intensify the existing problems at the local junctions, with the knock on effect to the surrounding roads.. The Aldi store on the Ewell Bypass creates terrible queuing and congestion where there is insufficient parking.

This junction and the surrounding roads are already overwhelmed with volume of traffic, it simply cannot sustain - and would be very dangerous - to place a supermarket that will generate high volume of traffic to it.

I regularly drive past this site from Ewell Village in the mornings and back later in the afternoon. The traffic coming from N. Cheam is regularly backed up from Sparrow Farm Road to The Organ Inn crossroads. There is often gridlock at the lights travelling towards Tolworth on the A240. Traffic entering and leaving the BP garage and Beaufort Way adds to the congestion. Adding a further commercial premises to the other corner will definitely cause chaos. Just take for example the Aldi store at Ruxley Lane, if it was not for it being a dual carriageway the traffic would be at a standstill, but as it is now it is often reduced to one lane causing havoc getting to Ruxley Lane and Tolworth. It is beyond belief that the council would allow this supermarket to go ahead, especially as permission was previously refused on congestion conditions. Further, this will undoubtedly cause unreasonable inconvenience to the residents of the whole surrounding area as well as through traffic.

Totally and utterly unsuitable traffic wise for a store of this kind. It's on a major junction and queuing to park - and there will be queues- will cause mayhem. The only reason it's not worse at theAldi store on the bypass is because it's a dual carriageway enabling traffic to flow.

The planning inspectorate ruled on traffic grounds in 2014. This issue remains and an u derv round car park is not going to make any difference to the volume of traffic that this proposal will generate.

There are enought supermarkets in the area. The junction is not built for teaffic going into a supermarket. Any GIS will show you that it would cause huge traffic issues. Leave it as a pub and restaurant.

I strongly object to this proposal based on that junction of London Road and Ewell bypass is already at full capacity. There are tail backs there from the lights at most times of the day. That area cannot accommodate any increase in traffic congestion. And yet another supermarket.
