I question why the Canadian chiropractic associations feel the need to change something. What is the underlying rational behind this possible senseless change?

Firstly, where is my say in this, or any other Chiropractor who is a member of the CCA for that matter? We pay dues to this association to support their efforts to REPRESENT us. There is no representation of any kind without any outreach to members to voice our opinions and no formal vote. Instead, we have a few folks making decisions on core identity issues that only assumes our best interests instead of actually asking for it. I do not pay dues for this type of blantant non-representation and absolute disrespect and arrogance. I cannot support any decision made in such a manner.
Secondly, to somehow think that simply dumbing down our identity as an expert will lead to greater acceptance and respect is utterly short sighted and just plain cowardly, let alone completely betrays the thing that is has always been the core of chiropractic identity. How does "MSK expert" command respect when it simply identifies us as an expert in only 2/3rds of the problem of joint pain and dysfunction? Any attempt at trying to be more accepted by selling yourself short on your potential, does NOT in anyway whatsoever resemble leadership.

Chiropractors have an extensive education base to properly diagnose and treat neurological conditions. Neurology should always stay in the scope of chiropractic.

As a foot and ankle surgeon I think removing the term neurologic does little to help the chiropractic profession and should remain

Another fine example of a spineless representation for our profession. Who exactly are we trying to fit in with? I know what we do why doesn't our association! Waist of money and time if all they can do is hurt our progression as main stream healthcare. You have lost my annual dues.

I strongly disagree with the notion of dropping the "neuro" part of the NMSK. Everything we do to the MSK system effects the nervous system. One could agrue that what we are really doing by treating the MSK is altering how the nervous system is functioning - a simple example is sciatica.. Is that a MSK problem or a NMSK problem? Is the pain in the leg actually a problem with the leg? Clearly not - treatment of the lumbar spine causes improved function of the NERVES, which has a positive effect on the leg symptoms! To suggest we are not treating the NMSK system is simply not true!

Chiropractic is a neurological profession that uses the musculoskeletal system to help create neurological changes.

i believe the effect on the nervous system is a critical part of what we do as chiropractors. i do not support a shift away from this in any discussions or negotiations.

It is outrageous to think that the one major thing that set us apart from Osteopathy and Physiotherapy could be dropped. It's the nervous system that is the KEY

Science has proven Chiropractic care can have a positive impact on the joint, muscle and NERVE.
If not... We would never see results with nerve related conditions!
To leave this out is confusing and misleading to our patients.

Chiropractors MUST be given the recognition and authority to do their much needed work. The time for North American doctors to work with ALL other doctors has long past. In Europe this type of unprofessional secrecy is not tolerated. It is time for "Conventional Doctors" to work with ALL health care providers to help save lives. My chiropractor makes the correct decisions to treat me very successfully for over 6 years. I would not have any quality of life with out her.

Have used chiropractor care my whole life, and fully appreciate the neurological advantages of the treatments. I often seek chiropractic care instead of my gp. She is a specialist and is part of my health care Team.

This move is in direct opposition to evidence based practice. It puts the association at odds with the published literature and significantly diminishes it's reputation as a legitimate representative body of rational chiropractors.

I have been a firm believer and user of subluxation neurological chiropractic care for 45+ years. Thank you to my chiropractor for giving me back feeling in my toes, and maintaining my spinal health

Heat and cold do not fix a pinched nerve, a chiropractic adjustment does. I got to my chiropractor before I go to the Dr.

Please do not remove the neurological wording from the chiropractic treatment. They most certainly treat neurological issues as well as musculoskeletal issues. Leave things alone! Chiropractors should have more respect. They deserve it! They can mend you without drugs!!!
Ridiculous. Why sell ourselves so short?
