The recent phenomenon within chiropractic by some organizations is proof of confusion within our profession. DD Palmer's 1910 book was entitled "The Science, Art and Philosophy of Chiropractic. Yet it is important to note that on every page is the term "The Chiropractor's Adjuster".
In this world it is common for a good idea, a new idea; to be targeted by trolls who's intent would be to steal the position of the originator for spurious reasons.
That chiropractic has been resisted both from within and from without is no secret. The AMA in the USA attempted to destroy chiropractic as a threat to the medical business of sickness treatment. To this day the damage done by disrespectful and largely ignorant physicians often promotes fear that unfortunately alienates the public from fully receiving and benefiting from all the chiropractic profession has to offer. More to the point of this petition is the fact of the rot from within. Many so-called chiropractic techniques have strayed from the principles that anchor our science and philosophy..
B.J. often spoke of the erosion of the profession he loved. The irony is that the timeless principles are viewed by too many in chiropractic and my alma mater - CMCC as 'limiting and unscientific'.! This is unacceptable to
in this time of unprecedented scientific interest and outright fascination with the role of the human central nervous system in health

Neurology is the foundation of Chiropractic! Chiropractors have an extensive education base to properly diagnose and treat neurological conditions.
I am unaware as to why the Canadian chiropractic association feels the need to suggest this change. What is the underlying rational behind this senseless change proposal?

Anyone who even gives a second thought as to whether the "N" should not be firmly embraced in NMSK must have his/her head in the sand!

Our focus on the neurobiomechanical aspects of human health, especially as it related to adjusting of the spine, is what distinguishes us from many our other practitioners of manual medicine. It is certainly at the core of my approach. It is a shame, and actually incorrect, to characterize our chief contribution as MSK. I recall the course designations at my Alma Mater being simply "NMS". To me, that spoke volumes.

What ever happened ...we also no longer adjust as it is now called manipulation.....when I went to school I learned about the difference between the two.

Neuro is important to chiro. If u wanna take something take micro or some course we don't use in a practical setting!!!

Current research confirms and validates the neurological component and chiropractic a positive effects on an abnormal mechanoreceptors, nocioreptors, and sympathetic nervousness system involvement in health, but also in the reduction of these clinical instabilities.

Chiropractic by theory and practice involves the nervous system. The neurological significance or potential of chiropractic may still require further study but it cannot be denied.

Headaches, radiculopathy... etc. Chiropractors diagnose and treat neurological conditions.

All conditions are neurologically related. Its hard to explain how a chiropractic manipulation has a positive effect distal symptoms if our target isn't the nerve. We have to be experts on nerves or we will have practitioners out there who don't understand what they are doing. Neuromusculoskeletal is an essential descriptor for the chiropractic profession.

The evidence is undeniable and unequivocal. Chiropractic is more about the brain which is why we get so many systemic effects. To disregard this is unscientific and goes against the best research.

Please look up the multiple peer reviewed studies on chiropractic adjustments and the nervous system. Don't make us msk specialists... That's the realm of physio. Chiro is about effecting the nervous system!
