If the BOE does this it is hurting the kids who wish to learn trades.
No is the time to promote more trade jobs!

The foods program was my place in school and I have Chef to thank for keeping me sane. These programs became family. Don’t take them away

Change where the classes are moved to. This is not fair to southern students. Maybe try a classroom at the college to try a middle distance for everyone

Taking away from one group of students and giving to another group isn’t a solution that is just causing another problem and disrupting kid’s lives.

This decision is making it impossible for our daughter to complete her culinary pathway. She is an Honors student and will not be able to do both if she has to be bussed to the other end of the county to complete her pathway. She is also heartbroken about "Chef" being taken away from Southern. The kids love him and do not want to see him leave.

I think southern should not have to suffer because northern do have a teacher maybe someone would apply so you can keep it in the schools and southern kids have to travel that far in the winter no no no kids will not sign up for it I think you need to rethink your decision how would you like to travel that far if you was in school ?

There must be a better solution to this. These classes are crucial for many students.

This is absurd. It’s seems every thing in Garrett county is about the “lake” !!! give our kids what they deserve and find a teacher . Teach these children some life skills . Don’t take away from our kids and make it harder for them to get credits to graduate. It’s definitely isn’t fair

The foods and auto mechanics class is crucial to southern high school students and their pathways. I have so many memories in foods department and i’ve never heard a student say a bad thing about either program. It builds kids to be great people and provides them with skills no other programs can. Keep this at southern, or find a way to have it at both.

How is this a central location? Once again, the southern end of the county gets screwed over!! How is this fair and reasonable for our students?

These programs have always been the pillars that help hold up SGHS. Many students rely on these programs to jumpstart their careers and don’t have transportation to make it happen, especially since Drivers Ed is no longer offered. And for the BoE to claim they want a centralized location, but not pick one close to one of the schools, is just plain unrealistic and unfair. We cannot allow this to happen.
