The Moving of Auto Mechanic and Culinary programs from Southern High School

I do not think that changing the schedules for all of Southern High students is the right thing to do. Im sorry but I know that there is another individual out there qualified to teach auto mechanics. The board of education can also afford to employ such person. Half of our taxes go for the education of our kids but schools close down, programs get moved, teachers are let go……. Come on, you can do better than this!

Its not right to put northern and southern students together when southern auto program is fine with a great teacher northern im sure can find a teacher for that

Let’s also look at the numbers of students enrolled at both ends in these programs? Is it equal?

Find a central location this solution is really stupid and I am not in favor of it it needs to stay on site for southern students please reconsider it and allow them to remain on site northern students have more of advantage to the location just leave it alone don’t change

I fully support that the classes be moved to a location equal distance to BOTH schools not just favoring Northern High.

This is such a terrible disservice for students.

These programs should not be moved from the high school in southern. Some kids can’t afford to not have these programs available to them. They should not have to drive 45 minutes to go to class, not acceptable solution to the problem. Many students can’t change there career pathway either. We need these services for the kids of southern and northern but some kids should not have to suffer and have the whole schedule messed up. Please rethink this decision.

The location should be mutually convenient for all involved parties.

This is so unfair to Southern.

This is totally unfair to punish SHS students because you can't find another teacher! Come on that's ridiculous!

I see many reasons this is totally unacceptable, however one very realistic reason is that with the price of gasoline, this is going to put a real hardship on students. 5 minutes from Northern but 45 from Southern. How can that even be a consideration?

This is another reason to actually have a VO TECH type building maybe near the college for all of Garrett Co high school students..

As a student that attends auto all day except for one period a day I don’t support moving it not just because of gas and travel time but most kids and teacher bring their own vehicles into the shop at the school for us students to learn and work on if we move the auto program the students will have less vehicles to work on and they might not be able to leave them overnight since it’s so far out of the way for home and work also the classes will be bigger and therefor less students will learn because the bigger the class the less the students pay attention and they learn even less and most kids take the course without knowing much about cars and by the time they graduate they will know just about anything with cars and the most important thing about moving is that how do they expect to have a teacher then because powers will be gone and northern doesn’t have a teacher so if northern can’t get a teacher now then both schools will be without a auto program

This isn't right it should be equal educational opportunities for students in both places. Find a more centrally located facility or Work with the teacher and see if you can get him to go to both places.

This is unfair to our SHS students. I am trying to talk my child into a different career pathway now. This travel time will take away from their learning.

DON'T DO IT LET THE STUDENTS STAY WHERE THEY ARE!!!!!!!
