That is not a centralized location when it is located in Accident . Why is everything be located to the Northern end of the county ? Does not the Southern end County matter?

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Perhaps some young blood on the Board of Education is what’s needed. This is in no way feasible for students nor the instructors. What a disruption.

Not a fair decision for anyone. These classes are needed and appreciated by so many students. They teach REAL skills for living. Accident is NOT a central location and opportunities for these classes should be given to BOTH schools in the county. Talk to kids---they will be honest and tell you how these programs are impacting there lives!! Listen to them!!!

These programs have been available without fail to students at Southern for more than 30 years. Unless you create a vocational school that enables these students to meet their academic needs as well as the vocational requirements, you are taking educational opportunities away from students. If you want these programs to be available to all Garrett County high school students without the option of a vocational high school, then you need to figure out the budget and fund the required positions. Maybe one less director at the board would be adequate to cover the costs. We are a small, incredibly small, county. Perhaps we don’t need an individual for every required administrative position. Perhaps, like in other organizations and companies, an individual is responsible and accountable for more than one activity. It’s true in healthcare and that’s life and death.

Programs need to be fair across the board for all students not just one area.

They need to rethink this is not the solution you have to think about the students that don't drive aswell an not be so quick to favor one side of the county. This is not the solution to the problem this starts a new problem for both sides.

Moving high school students to the college just to make room for incoming 7th 8th grade realignment is not ok.

This is such a disservice to Southern Garrett kids.

This should not be just a burden for the kids in the southern end of the county to struggle.

It sounds to me like you need to work harder to fill this position. Instead of failing our children there are more Mechanical positions to fill in Oakland then in McHenry. Your not only failing our Students but our Community as a hole.

I'm curious, did the 'Board' give a definitive reason for moving this program to Accident ??? They had to have a reason or determination since they would know there would be criticism. Just ask'n ???

This decision needs to be reconsidered. There are way too many problems with the logistics.

Both schools should offer both courses at their respective buildings. They clearly have the room for it, since the schools are not operating at full capacity.
