I've been booking ads from Spain for many years on Bodas Net, the company that The Knot operates in Europe. I've had the Premium, Silver, and Gold portals. Each year, the prices increased significantly. I received hundreds of messages from people who never responded to my emails, texts, or calls. I was able to verify that some were fake.

I was essential conned into signing a contract that was billing me for multiple tiers. Paying for the lowest paid tier as well as the step up which includes the services provided in the lowest tier.

We are a new business that has been using the knot. I personally used the business years ago and never had a problem. But now we are getting false brides. Brides not even in our state etc. When talking to our rep we get the oh you need to do this do that, but no answers why we are not getting real brides.... everything is generated with the same request. If it was real brides they woukd ask you there specific request.. we also are listed as a store in a different city that we don't even have a store there. Sad . Its come to a company who is taking advantage of marketing and promises they don't deliver.

I have been advertising for years, I dropped WW due to fake leads, then they raised my Knot bill from $290 to $364 and now I am getting fake leads when in the recent past that wasn't the case. It seems to me that they control hands on, the ads. They are telling me now I have to have the availability calendar up and running or I won't "place high". I am paying to be "placed high" already. Very controlling. Not organic.

I feel like a year of my life was robbed by following up with fake leads constantly and thinking I was doing something wrong because they never responded. I want my life time back! What an unscrupulous, greedy, company. If someone else hasn't already we'll be starting to file a class action lawsuit against them. Let us know if you'd like to join!

I had the same frustrating experience others have mentioned. I received random, irrelevant inquiries like "my wedding colors are blue and green" or "my wedding vibe is rustic"—with no prior messages or real engagement. That’s when it became crystal clear to me that the system was broken. I immediately marked my calendar to cancel three weeks before my contract ended.
When I finally got in touch with my rep, they told me, “I’m not sure you can cancel—your contract is renewing.” I responded firmly and without hesitation: I was not going to play the game this company is known for. My contract still had three weeks left, and I was canceling—period. I even made it clear I’d contact the Fair Trade Commission and my attorney if they tried to prevent me from doing so.
They continued pushing back, to the point that I had to mention financial hardship just to get them to stop trying to convince me otherwise. The entire experience was a nightmare.

We have asked multiple times to discontinue services. When we tell them we are going to stop payment, they threaten with collections. The last thing small businesses need is this kind of bullying and scamming

I had advertised with The Knot/WW from 2023-2024 for our floristry business. I'm confident they wasted months of my time and money. After complaining to our rep about our monthly rate, (I heard someone else was paying a lot less than me for the same coverage) they reassured me it was worth our while, my rate was the lowest they offered, and my booking methods could be improved on (and I'm not perfect, I'm sure they could be.) Yet when we had real brides reach out via instagram/directly though our website, we were able to book almost all of them. They also reassured me it was engagement season, from Christmas/NYE/Valentines Day and I would be receiving dozens of inquiries come spring. Each time I tried to lower our rate/complain about the lack of bookings, I was flooded with inquiries days later. (which I was naive enough to think were real at the time, but now I recognize the pattern and know better.) Getting a hold of our rep was like pulling teeth- if I emailed them, I couldn't ever converse via email, only set up a scheduled phone call. These scheduled phone calls were booked weeks out, and ALWAYS after the next billing cycle. Once I made up my mind about canceling, I emailed asking to terminate my contract. Our rep responded saying they were on vacation for the next month, I could only cancel over the phone, and they would have to change my account rep so I could be serviced sooner. (I swear this was all a lie just to buy them more time.) A week or so had passed- and my new rep contacted me with their phone schedule. Of course, their earliest availability was after the next billing cycle. Eventually upon talking to them, they said there was a misunderstanding- only our original rep had the ability to cancel our contract, they were only a temporary handler. Truly nonsense. Once my original rep "returned" I scheduled a phone conversation with them, and surprise surprise...their earliest convenience was just a day or two after I would be billed for the following mo

I paid both The Wedding Wire and The Knot for paid advertising, and I would get no messages or leads, then at 6am on a Monday morning I would get 3 come in at once that seemed obviously fake, and the n umbers were not valid.

The Knot continues to raise my advertising fee yearly without my consent. They do not notify me despite claiming that they do. I receive so many unnecessary emails from them so it's not possible to "miss" the most important one, regarding payment. The few "sales" account managers come and go like a revolving door. One in particular named Ishaq Clayton, would not speak to me unless I committed to an hour long Zoom call and then it was impossible to schedule. We finally settled on a phone call where he shadily convinced me I had no other choice but to continue advertising or I would be "demoted" in my views. I recently demanded to speak to Billing on the phone and they reduced my price but it was not easy. I have had an inkling this is a sham business for so long, Happy to see this in action!!

We quit advertising with Wedding Wire years ago after auditing several years worth of leads. Out of hundreds of leads over several years, less than a third responded with a real person asking for a consultation. From there, maybe 20 turned into actual consultation calls, for which I made a proposal, and of those, I think about 5 actually booked with me. Horrible ROI.

I was a member for years. Quality of leads continued to go down hill over time and I couldn't afford the cost because they charged different amounts for different areas. I was spending $1200 a month and getting nothing back. When I asked to cancel my contract they gave me the run around and told me that I wasn't doing things right, so I should do certain things to get better inquiries. I tried all the things they asked for the next 6 months and kept getting spam or poor leads. Told them to cancel my contract and again got a run around until I threatened legal action for them to cancel my contract. I now only have a free listing on Wedding Wire.
