To whom it may concern,
My name is Valorie Weber, I am the owner and operator of Foxtail Films LLC. I run a small wedding photography and videography business based out of Southeast Iowa. I am also a mother of two young girls and a wife to a very supportive and loving husband, Kevin. We live on a farm and it has been a dream of ours to be able to work from home and raise our children under our own roof. The combination of farm work and Foxtail Films has made that dream come true. Praise God!
Our wedding business started in 2020, the year we got married, and that was the first time I had heard of The Knot. They’re what people in the wedding industry would refer to as “experts”, seeing as they’ve been in business since 1996. I myself was always very impressed by the reach this company had in the wedding industry. I knew advertising was going to cost a significant amount of money that I didn’t necessarily have. I also knew if I wanted to begin to reach couples that were outside of the state of Iowa, that advertising through The Knot could potentially be a place to start. Little did I know, I fell into their trap.
Months and months prior to me signing up with The Knot, I had received numerous emails and phone calls from sales reps to the point where I nearly blocked their number. In July 2025, I started to see a decline in my inquiries. I thought that a business heavily involved in the wedding industry would be a wonderful place for me, someone else who’s in the wedding industry, to work with to broaden my reach.
In August 2025, I scheduled a phone call with a representative from The Knot. I more or less just wanted to dabble in what to expect for pricing because it was not advertised anywhere on their site. What I thought would be a quick 10 minute inquiry turned into a 2 1/2 to 3 hour long sales phone conversation. I was told that the price that they gave me was set in stone and that they could not offer me that same price once I hung up the phone. I fe

These scamers took me for $444 a month for a year and wouldn't let me cancel. As a new business owner that was a big pill to swallow.

14 years with them and I’m busier since I stopped my listing. Wish I would have left sooner so I’d have about $30k I could have invested into growing my business instead of supporting their platform.

I sent them an email regarding this as well as not investing in the technology to stabilize the platform, as a developer, there needs to be significant upgrades on the backend to ensure the vendors can rely on ands the platform to their advantage.

I am a small business owner based in Utah. I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be deceptive and misleading sales and business practices by The Knot Worldwide, Inc. through its WeddingPro advertising platform.
In May 2025, I entered into a paid advertising contract with WeddingPro after a sales call with their representative. The decision to proceed was based on specific verbal representations regarding expected lead volume, ease of achieving ROI, and the quality of customer support.
After signing the contract, those representations did not align with reality, and my experience has matched a pattern widely reported by other small wedding vendors nationwide.
Specific Issues:
1. Misleading Sales Representations. During the sales call, the WeddingPro sales representative made statements suggesting that my business could reasonably expect multiple bookings per week due to high lead volume in my geographic market and that achieving meaningful ROI through WeddingPro would be “easy” or “a piece of cake.”
These statements materially influenced my decision to enter the contract.
In practice, the volume and quality of leads did not match what was represented. Most leads appeared non-genuine, unresponsive, or unusable. No measurable ROI was achieved despite continued payments of $400 per month.
After I raised concerns, WeddingPro later characterized these sales statements as “averages” or “goals,” despite the fact that they were presented in a way that a reasonable small business owner would interpret as likely or expected outcomes.
2. Refusal to Provide Sales Call Recording. WeddingPro records sales calls but has refused to provide me with a copy or transcript of my own sales call, citing “security reasons.”
Instead, the company provided only its own internal summary stating that no guarantees were made.
This creates a significant imbalance, because the company controls the only objective evidence of what was said, and I was a

I was promised that I would increase my sales by percentages according to their plan. After months of no results and doing everything they said I came to realize that this is 100% a scam. There was no way to get out of their contract early so I had to pay large fees every month for the entire year. Every lead that I got didn't respond to any sort of messages. I can't believe that this company is still going around doing workshops at wedding networking events.

I have been the victim of many fake leads. So much so, that I no longer respond to messages on TheKnot.com. It feels like harrassment. They also will not remove my business information from their website.

Influx of inquiries once I mentioned I would be cancelling my NYC listing. I suspect that some of the ghosting is a result from couples never actually inquiring with me so they never answer.

Worst company- fake leads and no actual business. Run away from them as fast as you can.
