They didn’t even have me read any terms and conditions before signing up, it was very misleading. They made it seem like a monthly subscription type thing not that I was stuck in a contract for a year at $200 a month. As a brand new business that is enough to break me if I’m not getting business. I’ve gotten 23 “leads” that have led to nothing but being ghosted.

DJ wedding vendor here. Both the wedding wire and the knot (after purchasing the former) has been a total scam to the event industry for the last several years. I stopped my subscription some time ago and it’s been only getting worse, it seems. Let’s put an end to this and start supporting platforms dedicated to truly lift an industry and grow the market.

I signed on in 2020 as a stationer and would receive hundreds of fake leads. Not a single inquiry would ever respond to my response. I was trapped in the expensive contract for a year and then they made it incredibly difficult to cancel. I think I had to call 5 separate times to finally get them to stop charging me for their sham of a service.

I was one of the thousands who were promised leads each month. Only for them to be fake, or couples who had already gotten married.

We got zero results the last year we were with them. We paid tens of thousands of dollars to them. Very unfair business practices!!

Just have had bad experiences with WeddingWire, The Knot with a lot of spam emails, fraud accounts, and not very helpful. They continue to keep increasing the price and try to lock you in. I have had several account managers try to force you to sign in to their rates without them listening to user feedback.

After long discussions on me not agreeing to pay for advertising on WW and Knot, my profile started to disappear in searches. Over 200 5-star reviews are unusable.

They sent me false leads! They never had a category for my business! They straight up lied and took advantage of me!

The knot has taken thousands and thousands of dollars for advertising while producing minimal return in investment and covering up that fact with fake leads, trying to justify their prices.

As a small business owner, I invested in The Knot and WeddingWire based on promises of quality leads. What I’ve experienced instead is a flood of aggressive scam inquiries pretending to be couples. It’s disappointing, frustrating, and unacceptable. We should not have to spend our time filtering fraud when we are paying for legitimate business opportunities.

Literally a waste of time and money. A scam. They cannot state I didn’t know how to market. I have 20+ years of marketing professionally.

I deal with fake leads at least once a week. It’s very frustrating and makes me very angry considering how much they charge and lock you in to. Not to mention their platform has tons of glitches and they take months to address them.
