The homeless of Exeter deserve shelter

Of course they need a shelter...would you want to live outside in this cold weather? It's not fit for dogs so why do we allow humans to??

I was shocked that a man froze to death and would like to add my name to your petition.

Come on guys please help the homeless people! Myself and my hubby have been in Exeter in with hot drinks and a hot meal and scarves and gloves and Hats for some of the guys we saw. Please guys these people need our help! Share and get everyone to post!!!

Saw today that a homeless man had frozen to death in Birmingham! This must not happen again.

This is a great idea and this make this happen

Having lived in the Home Counties I have been struck by the number of homeless in this area. Admittedly there are plenty of empty venues around that could have been chosen, both inner city and outlying areas but I don't think it would have made any difference to those that wish to complain because all they are concerned about is the potential that someone might urinate on wall near them or threaten their businesses because customers put off from visiting. I question humanity at times like this. If I wasn't unwell myself and struggling looking after two young children one with additional needs I would offer shelter within my own home. I'm planning to support the soup kitchen or Salvation Army on Christmas Day. Just feel we need to stop prioritising our selfish lives and think if those around us who just want shelter with some human warmth and nourishment, without which lives could seriously be at risk this winter with these temperatures. Most people don't choose to be homeless. Circumstances have arisen to cause them to be in the situation. Having been homeless myself a few times, once of which I lived in a tent, I can totally emphasis with this dire need for compassion within our so called society!

This sounds like a very well thought out idea and anything that reduces rough sleeping has got to be a good thing.

We can't keep letting people die on the streets like rabid animals. We as humans should know better and care more. The reason this should be given the go ahead is... Humanity

Great ideas as long as it's drug and drink free as there are people out there through no fault of there own !!

I am shocked that there would be so many objections to this. It's a brilliant idea to support and engage with those at risk out on the streets.

Every man woman and child need to be safe and off the streets. Already support the homeless as much as I can and put my 'for' comments into the planning application for sleep safe. We need more buildings.

Everybody deserves a home

Speaking about refugees the mayor of Dunkirk said "No one will freeze or starve in my town" we should say the same

Please take this petition seriously and start looking after our own people on our door steps and stop worrying about "skilled" off the books labour coming into the U.K.,

Cant believe some people would stop this,its lifes at risk here in this cold weather. I always said aways treat people the way you would like to be treated yourself. Hope it all goes ahead for these poor people and they have the shelter they need.

I understand why there may be objection to this ,I think police ought to monitor the area tobe keep everyone safe.

The shelter is really needed! Especially now more than ever! All I rhave read every day this week is how a homeless person has died from the cold...disgraceful
