Proximity to students and engagement with the student body, whether planned or by happenstance, is central to the success of a university president.

I remember meeting Loftin on Parents Day weekend and getting my picture with him. I hope current and future Aggies can do the same with our new President.

Please at least allow it to be an option for the President to reside there.

We took our AgriLeader staff photos at the president's house when I was Editor-in-Chief my Senior year. We were so honored to be able to do that and this lovely home will never be the same. What will we call it??? Bed and breakfast of Texas A&M??? Cause that's basically what it would be for the right price!

I understand the need for fundraising but this is ridiculous. Sharp needs to think more about the traditions of this great university instead of the $$$$ associated with it.

Stop dumping the university and its student body for more donations from big names.

Sure wish we'd have administrators living on campus who would IMPACT students and student life like the Koldus's.

We are a school that takes pride in tradition. Let's not take away something that makes this university special. I think it is very cool and unique to have the President a couple hundred yards from dorms and classrooms.

As a current student I do not understand the administrations apparent need to keep changing traditions at our university. Hopefully it'll stop with this.

the president share the campus with the students. There is great history in the presidents house and like most of a&m it is a tradition that should not be broken.

The president should live among the people he serves.
