give donors the Chancellors house, NOT the President's house! Seriously people, is it only about the money anymore?

Administration, as much as you would like to pander to donors, the donors of TAMU love this university for its values and traditions. Not because they want to upturn tradition and stay at the President's house. Are you that desperate?

I had attended many events at the President's house while being a student at Texas A&M and my hope is that one day my children will be able to as well!

one of the reasons presidents do well here at A&M is because of how they interact with the student body, prt of that is living among us and being involved on campus. By going against that tradition, you are showing your lack of commitment to the student body and are making a stance as to how you want to govern us.

This is one tradition that doesn't need to be changed

Being the president comes with love and boundless service for Texas A&M. How can the job be done adequately if not done from campus. If he doesn't respect this tradition, what else is he going to change??

If a president doesn't live among the people he/she is leading, how does one maintain a connection to the people for which they're leading? This institution isn't a large, corporate firm, it's a university. To live and work among the people your lead, I believe this act shows that service to students is still important to the president. .
