We the undersigned are opposed to Circle Housing Group's plans to close down Old Ford Housing association and centralise all services under its own direct Management. We believe this is a breach of the promises made to residents on the Housing Action Trust Estates and Parkside Estates and Old Ford would be locally-managed and locally-controlled housing association.

Given our experience with its failing centralised repairs and maintenance service, much delayed regeneration of the Parkside Estates, we are not persuaded that Circle's plans for a Regional Panel and a local"community panel" go anywhere near far enough to guarantee a level of accountability that will ensure our interests as tenants and leasholders are protected in the way we were told they would.

Circle has failed to provide a balanced consultation leaflet. It fails to set out clearly the powers of Old Ford HA Board currently and or even outline the disadvantages of its proposed new structure and governance arrangements. We therefore call Old Ford"s Board to reject these plans and for the Social Housing Regulator and Housing Minister to refuse authorisation for any attempt by Circle to closed down old ford.
