Vote No. This development is totally out of character for the neighborhood. Find another location and build affordable housing that adds to rather than detracts from the surrounding area. Ugly, too dense, too tall, not enough green space..... corner already busy....road barely wide enough but try driving on trash pickup day.....not fun!

The proposed project is out of scale for the surrounding neighborhood. Safety concerns for pedestrians as well as motorists and cyclists need to be considered. Additionally, the employment of a member of Town Council by the developer should immediately render that individual ineligible to participate in any voting or decision making relevant to the project. That would be unethical and inappropriate.

To have a project of such density at this location is asking for the development of a slum as well as traffic problems. We need low income housing in Blacksburg, but not in a dense high rise at an already overloaded intersection!! The proposed density is not in keeping with ANY area in Blacksburg on such a small plot. Someone plans to profit from this project but it is NOT the people wo currently live in the area or those who will occupy this crowded area should it be permitted. VOTE NO on this Project!!

I would like to see more affordable housing become available in Blacksburg, however think the extent of housing being developed here is far too large for this space and hope that more suitable space could be found for a project this size.

Please vote NO for the zoning change for the corner of Country Club and Main Street. Although we support low income housing, the structure being proposed for this property is too tall and too dense, and it doesn't have safe setbacks from the sidewalk. The current zoning is in place for a reason. Country Club drive cannot safely handle this additional traffic at an already difficult intersection. Not only is this unsafe for drivers, but it is particularly unsafe for the many children and other pedestrians/bikers that frequently use the sidewalk on Country Club between Grissom and Main Street. Please vote NO and require the developer to decrease the density and height of this building!

This development will cause a significant increase in traffic on the narrow Country Club Drive. The proposed exit onto Country Club is only a few feet from the intersection of Country Club and Grissom, adding further complications and potential congestion. This colocation of these two intersections is an accident waiting to happen.

Please listen to the citizens that live and work in this area. We are not against affordable housing or this project but PLEASE REDUCE the number of units and make it compatible with the Town's vision. You can NOT undo this once problems begin.

Once again the Town administration (since 2017) is choosing to ignore their own Comprehensive Plan. Why put so much time, effort, and expense, well as public input, into a document that has been disregarded over and over?
