I regularly cross the intersection of South Main and Country Club on foot or bicycle. That section of Country Club would require a large-scale upgrade to handle additional traffic.

I support housing for people less fortunate than many of us are, but this seems to be the wrong spot for it. This is already a very congested intersection. It seems the planning commission in Blacksburg environs are steadily expanding housing with little consideration for at a minimum road infrastructure to support it. Take a ride out Price’s Fork Rd to witness the mess they’re allowing to happen.

I am opposed to this rezoning!! That is a dangerous intersection that doesn’t need anything else added that will create additional traffic. The traffic in this part of town is already ridiculous & a constant pain!!!

I think it's a mistake to add so much extra traffic while also preventing future road expansions by building so close to the road--it ensures that congestion will be a permanent and worsening problem.

All the concerns raised by the neighborhood are valid. The proposed project needs to be revised with a more sensitive intervention that respects scale and density of the neighborhood.

I agree with all the stated objections. Affordable housing is important but it needs to be done properly and respectfully.
Same issues of density, setbacks, road congestion at the corner of North Main and Mount Tabor.

Why bother to develop longe range planning if we don't stick to it? Why does every developer feel entitled to double or triple planned density? They know the zoning when they buy the property. If CHP is about building communities, why can't they propose developments that respect the community? Yes to affordable housing on this lot, no to 2.5x zoned density.

The Country Club /Main intersection is already a bottleneck, and this proposal will add outrageous congestion to the conduit for all who live in the neighborhoods to the northeast of that intersection.
It is already a congested intersection.
