Giving up beautiful, useful trees for more concrete-what are they thinking? Bring on tClimate Change at the local level.

From all the places, Selbi Gardens ??? will kill trees for ....money. hand by hand with Michaels on East ....Ho boy,Hoo boy....

I have loved the gardens since I moved 4 blocks away 25 years ago. But, Selby is for those in town. It is not, and never will be a “destination”

After a recent walk along the sidewalks at Selby, I was disheartened to observe the overgrowth and lack of attention to the pruning and overall maintenance of the grounds. In years past walking my dogs, I would enjoy viewing many different species of bees and saw none. This was disturbing and an indicator of the focus taken away from what a garden is. The gardens provide a habitat to so many birds, the thought of trees being removed is heartbreaking. After having walked mornings there for years, the staff and gardeners I would say hello to are no longer there. Please take a walk and draw your own conclusions. Please save the gardens.

My main objection is the cutting down of thr oaks and other trees.

Construction/destruction is going on everywhere around us. Destroying the greenery in Selby will put Sarasota a step closer to oblivion.

Just no. Have lived in Bungalow Hill since 1953. ...family or self. Marie Selby did not intend her garden to be used for commercial enterprises. This garage will obscure the purpose of the gardens. Rethink this commercially motivated project.

NO crazy garage and overbuilding. You will destroy the beauty and tranquility of Selby Gardens.

Cutting down the most important features of life just to build more buildings. It is more important than ever that we keep trees not only for our source of oxygen but to combat the ever growing risk of climate change

As a 35 year resident in the Southside neighborhood of Sarasota I am heartbroken that this is even being considered as an option. I believe that the proposed plan will severely diminish the quality of life for those residents in our immediate neighborhood as well as those in our community at large. The commercial rezoning of a residential neighborhood, the eyesore of a multilevel concrete structure obscuring the bay, the additional noise factor (again in a residential neighborhood) are only minor issues when you consider the massive additional strain of traffic arriving to and exiting the garage structure day and night. Michael’s is a commercial venture being snuck into a residential neighborhood by a non-profit entity attempting to tap into a cash cow. I don’t believe this has anything at all to do with growing the garden and I believe that Marie Sel y would be appalled.

So typically Sarasota - pretend we're conscientious, caring and creative - but always succumb to the red dollars that have kept a stranglehold on this county

We are long-time members of Marie Selby Gardens but do not approve of this garage construction. The gardens should establish shuttle buses either from existing parking garages or from venues such as shopping malls. Neither do we need restaurants and event spaces. Kew Gardens in London is much larger and has no parking garage. Marie Selby Gardens should learn from Kew and have a 1-acre conservatory not a 1-acre garage.

We lived in SRQ for over 30yrs and 5 years ago moved to NC. We loved our community but due to the over building & growth of the area it was no longer the quality of life that we wanted. STOP this craziness now.

No to the concrete garage. Leave our beautiful trees and garden alone Margaret Renner

No to this project. Keep Selby the way it was intended.. We don't need another restaurant and concrete garage.. this area is all wrong for that
