Thank you! So many feel the same. If we can’t beat them at city hall we will beat them financially! BENEFACTORS SHOULD BE ASHAMED of the desecration of Marie Selby’s gift and legacy. Hopefully they’ll think twice before it’s too late.

Stick around SRQ enough and mindless development becomes the norm. In this case, however, stupidity and ego-driven foolishness are running wild. Anyone who has ever driven down Orange Ave, with its lovely homes, civil speed limit and overall charm knows how precious this type of neighborhood and vide are. When does the insanity stop? Clue: bigger is not better. Projects such as the proposed Shelby expansion are destroying what was once a city with small town charm. For God’s sake, why is that so hard for some to grasp????? No garage! Traffic is bad enough and the eyesore would be environmentally repulsive.

Outrageous overreach incompatible with the neighborhood. No to changing the Comprehensive Plan, no to the destruction of precious mature trees, no to a concrete edifice.

A good organization but it continues to feed on its successes and excesses. Enough is enough

The gardens was never meant for commercial use.

If this petition passed I will NEVER be an annual member of Selby Gardens again, not will I bring annual guests, attend any events.

That will create more traffic, it’s a beautiful piece of property, leave it alone.

Keep Selby gardens a garden!

Downsize the scope of this project, keep the research and gardens and eliminate the restaurant commercialization. NOT COMPATIBLE WITH NEIGHBORHOOD!

The garden is sarasota's natural anti polution center. Don't create a building that is destructive to this natural habitat.
