They must want SRQ to look like Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. Concrete, concrete,...and oh do you see that little palm tree?! We are in paradise, right?

Selby spreads misinformation at every turn
Fact is simple - no one should build a 6 story commercial garage restaurant convention center in a residential neighborhood
Selby must think we are idiots to say cutting down 111 of their trees is great as u can build a garage and make it a bigger garden.
Taxpayer money needed as word is no fund raising coming in
Selby admin making a fortune and if this nonprofit builds this monstrosity they should reap the big payday personally -but we simply live here!!

What in the world are you thinking????? Please stop catering to the wealth that is coming into Sarasota. Access to beautiful nature has always been one of the distinguishing characteristics of a good life here. Once it's gone you can't replace it. This is not a diatribe against growth, but a call to think about the longterm changes that this kind of action will implement. Is it for the good of all in Sarasota? My opinion is that it is not.

There is always enough parking at Shelby Gardens - hence no need for an expansion. This is poor management of a public gift on the part of the Trustees that would see the loss of protected trees & parklands. It’s a big No - to this expansion plan.

Are you kidding me??? How could this even be seriously consider. Yes, yes... more money of course but that is NOT what that land was left to do!!! Keeping the peaceful, simple beauty of the property should be the ONLY option.

Selby Gardens is my favorite place in Sarasota and certainly does not need to be changed. This idea is an abomination
