Shelby Gardens is self-centered and selfish. Much as we neighbors admire the good things that SG does, we are dismayed by their lack of interest in the misery they are causing the community in which they reside.

Selby Gardens is a valuable asset for Sarasota. It offers an ecological niche for a green city tourism to flourish in town. It is irresponsible and short sighted to destroy the trees for parking. If you really care about transit, invest in the bus system and make park and rides. Leave the beauty and freshness of the trees alone, please!

Good Luck! I hope you can save your neighborhoods from the intrusion of commercial and greedy businesses. I truly believe if Marie Selby knew that her gardens were going to expand this much and disturb her neighbors and the whole city/county with more traffic, etc. she would say, “absolutely not.”
