I am opposed to the loss of trees and "development" of the property. I have loved the garden for over 20 and consider it a true Sarasota treasure. Please don't ruin it!!!

The presentation describes the reasons to NOT turn Selby Gardens into a commercial money making vehicle ; instead of keeping it in the form in which the owner wanted it to be used.

Don’t destroy the natural beauty that is Selby Gardens. It’s a world-class wonder already. The addition of a huge restaurant and garage would only make it low class and gaudy.

While you're at it- go ahead and asphalt over the bricks on Palm Ave, to totally 'hide' any remembrance of the Selby/Payne neighborhood as it once was. And then why not move on to Jungle Gardens with a massive garage & restaurant right out front. Or there's PLENTY of room on the front lawn of the Ringling Museum- go crazy!
